I follow some 300+ accounts on Instagram including people, artist, fashionistas, bloggers and creative highs. Although every account is unique in its own way but then few of them really need that special mention. I will try and select as many as possible so that you all can follow them as well.

The Juhu Beach in Mumbai is one of the most famous Indian beaches. The place is always buzzing with families, friends, travelers and enthusiast localities who are looking for fun times to spend. The Beach is world famous for its local delicacies and street food. The food stalls set up here offer excellent cuisines and snack items. People in Mumbai visit this beach to relax and enjoy after a long, tedious day. Watching the sunset in this wonderful place, guarded by the vast Arabian Sea, is a dream-like vision for anyone who visits the beach.

But the one very common thing that you get to see here are the 'Instant Photographers'!

In such a “digital age”, and the 'camera cell phone' democracy, the instant photographers offering their services next to tourist attractions or at the beach have almost seems so outdated that it almost difficult to believe that they still exist.

The culture of printed images is deeply rooted in indian culture. This “minute” photography service makes then sense and allows people to bring home a tangible proof of this relaxing moment on the beach with friends or family.

On Sunday afternoon, more than 50 photographers offer their service on the 3 km long beach. Most of them wear accessories (hats, sunglasses, necklaces) that can be lent at any time to “customers”.

After tedious running and convincing the clients (its a task truly) these Instant Photographers guide their model convincing them to take some kind of stereotypical poses in front of the camera and people happily oblige.

“its not the case always. Once I took picture of this couple and after handing over them the printed copy, the man started crying and said he got carried-away and now does not have enough money to go back home. I have to request my friends to contribute and we gave them the money and sent them home”, said Prasad one of the senior most photographer.

Hearing this another young chap got in and said, “true, but once I had this guy from abroad, he paid me Rs. 500/- for a mere Rs.50 worth of work. So you see we get all sorts of people”.

“But it is hard work. Except one weekends, that's Saturday and Sunday, we hardly make money on weekdays”, 32 years old, Mohan said.

These guys are not professional photographers, but have learnt the nuisance under an expert for sometime before joining the bandwagon. “oh god! I am not creating any fashion photoshoot so what difference it makes if I know the tricks or not. In the end we have to satisfy the client by taking good picture”, Prasad concluded.

Soon after a few clicks here and there, the client decide the best one among the lot for final printing. In a few minutes the images are printed and given to the 'model' under a small plastic cover protecting it from san and sea spray.

Bagh-e-Aam

Public Gardens aka Bagh-e-Aam was built by the Nizam regime in 1920s. As a kid I remember going to a place with my family which was full of greenery, flowers, fountains and never ending view of the sky. While my parents and relatives settles down with their irani chai, osmania biscuits and the overload of gossip session, we kids, myself, my sister and brother, sometimes cousins, used to run in the huge never ending garden of tiny mountains of lush green grass, screaming, dancing and singing until the lunch is ready to be served. We used to climb the mountains and roll down like a dice. There was so much to do in one whole day that it used to feel like just few hours. Later as I grew up, my dad enrolled me into this Saturday Art Special class conducted by Mr T. Vaikuntam at Jawahar Bal Bhavan. Although I had attended the class only once it's still embedded in my memory like a seal.

And how can one forget Lalitha Kala Toranam, the open theatre, inaugurated by the then CM Mr NTR as a service to general public to watch some beautiful telugu black and white movie of NTR, ANR, Anjali Devi and Jamuna, and many more, under the full moon night for free? Nostalgic.

Having completely lost touch with it due to my education and growing up, i re-discovered this place in early 1990s all by myself and was amazed. The State Archeological Museum is a delight for art lovers. The museum boasts of one of the richest repositories of antiques and art objects in the country including the Buddhist gallery, Brahmanical & Jain gallery, Bronze gallery, Arms & Armour gallery, Numismatics gallery, Ajanta gallery and more. Adjacent to the State Museum is the Contemporary Art Museum where i got introduced to the original watercolor wash technique art of Chugtai. Also this is where I first had a closest look of an Egyptian mummy. Brilliant!

This was 80s and 90s.

The new millennium saw a radical change and development in the nawabi city of Hyderabad. Most certainly this place also got affected.

2015 gives a very different picture altogether. Today whenever I visit Hyderabad, i make it a point to go for Friday prayers in the beautifully peaceful Masjid at the entrance of the garden. After finishing my namaz I just take a leisure stroll across the garden to see if something new has come-up. Definitely things are different now. Clearly this place is becoming more of political leaders set up (due to its adjacent Telangana Legislative and Assembly office) and for some stupid reason there are more and more concrete structures being built by the government than preserving its flora and fauna. Last I heard the locals have filed a case in the High Court to stop further construction of any sort of building in the gardens. Bravo!

But all said and done nothing actually is lost in the end. One can still spend a few hours lazing around doing absolutely nothing. Now won't that be so much fun!
